CCS: the universal standard for charging electric vehicles
🔌 What is CCS?
CCS (Combined Charging System) is a universal charging standard that allows you to charge electric vehicles with both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC). This connector provides a high level of compatibility between different brands of electric vehicles, so you can charge your electric vehicle at almost any charging station ⚡️
Why we chose CCS: 🌎
This standard is dominant in the EU markets (CCS type 2) and quite popular in the US (CCS type 1). In addition, in the European Union, according to Directive 2014/94/EU, all high-power DC charging stations installed after November 18, 2017 must be equipped for compatibility with at least CCS 2 connectors.
We are also developing our own controller that will comply with the Chinese GB/t standard. Globally, more than 40% of cars are produced with GB/t.
🚀 Thanks to the possibility of direct current (DC) charging, CCS provides high-speed charging, which allows you to charge an electric vehicle battery much faster than other standards. However, CCS is not faster than NACS.
🧩 The CCS connector is supported by many automakers, including such giants as BMW, Volkswagen, Ford, Jaguar, Hyundai, Kia, MG, Polestar, Citroen, Renault, Tesla, and many others, making it the de facto standard for new electric vehicles.
So, we take into account global trends in our products as much as possible to make them work more efficiently!
