EDS_Ukraine postpones investment in new plant due to searches and plans to move production to Czech Republic
Earlier this year, the #EDS_Ukraine group, led by Aleksandr Zapyshniy, planned large-scale investments in the construction of a new workshop for the production of transformers and chargers for high-power electric vehicles. The products were planned to be sold not only in Ukraine but also in the Eurozone, and in the long term, to conquer the US market.
The first stage involved the construction of a 4,000-square-meter workshop, which was to start this year, and the following year we would have a new production facility in operation. A year after that, we planned to start construction of a second twin workshop, also 4,000 square meters, to expand production.
INVESTMENTS:
💵 first stage: $1,500,000 for capital buildings and $2,500,000 for equipment.
💵 second phase: almost $4,000,000 for equipment and production space.
Total investment: almost $8,000,000 by 2026.
JOBS: 160 employees with corresponding tax revenues.
PAYBACK PERIOD: 5 years.
TAXES: UAH 40-45 million per year in addition to the existing volume of almost 70 million across the EDS Ukraine group in 2023.
WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY DONE:
✅ acquired a land plot.
✅ completed the development phase and obtained all the necessary construction permits (Urban planning conditions and restrictions).
✅ Design is at the final stage (work is underway on metal structures).
✅ financing for the first stage has been found at the expense of Oleksandr Zapyshnyi's own funds and loans from partner banks that trust us due to our conscientious and fruitful long-term cooperation.
HOWEVER, last week, the group's offices and the homes of managers and co-developers were searched.
🤯 Shocking? Yes! Because in the 15 years of the company's existence, this is the first case of searches.
To preserve the secrecy of the investigation, we will not disclose any details, but we believe that this is pressure on the business. By the way, according to our experience, it is groundless, as we have seen from our compliance with the requirements for the work we do and the lawyers involved in the process.
😢 It is a pity that this situation of "recognizing you as a business" is the norm.

We have begun to study the possibility of creating this project in the Eurozone. After all, given the new risks, the prospect of investing in Ukraine is becoming even more risky.
This decision is a forced step that could lead to the loss of jobs and tax revenues for our country. However, the group continues to operate and we are committed to providing a quality product for Ukrainian consumers, albeit now possibly with production facilities abroad...
