Halfway to a Solar Future: EDS Ukraine’s 9.2 MW Solar Power Plant Reaches 50% Completion
Did you know that modern solar panels can generate energy even in the rain? Thanks to Half-Cut Cell technology and increased efficiency (as in Risen 585 W panels), they “catch” even in shaded conditions. And these are the solutions we are implementing at our facilities, namely at the new 9.2 MW (DC) solar power plant. This is not just a “meadow with panels” - it is a well-thought-out system where every element is critical.
⚡️ Key technical parameters:
🔹 Photovoltaic panels: Risen 585 W - 15,834 pcs.
Inverters: Huawei SUN2000-330KTL-H1 - 24 pcs.
Transformer substations: 35/0.8 kV (2500 kVA), manufactured by #EDS_Power - 4 pcs.
35 kV switchgear combined with an outdoor switchgear, manufactured by #EDS_Power
🔹 Annual electricity production: 12,787 MWh
🏗 TODAY 50% READINESS, WHAT'S NEXT?
We have completed the installation of half of the panels, but this is just the tip of the iceberg! The next steps are to connect the inverters and launch the monitoring system, which will show in real time how each kWh of energy is “born” from sunlight.
🔋 THE PROSPECT OF ENERGY STORAGE
Over time, this project plans to implement an energy storage system that will accumulate excess energy during periods of surplus and return it to the grid when demand increases. This solution will help to:
🔹 Balance electricity generation and consumption
🔹 Reduce the load on the grid
🔹 Increase the efficiency of the power system as a whole
🌱 WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR UKRAINE?
Each new solar power plant is a significant step towards the country's energy independence. The project will reduce CO₂ emissions by about 10,000 tons annually, which is equal to planting 40,000 oak trees!
We create systems that make energy affordable, environmentally friendly and resilient to any challenges.
