- What is included in the maintenance services of SPP?

When we take on the maintenance of solar power plants, we monitor the operation of the station around the clock and maintain its generation at the level of 100%. That is, our range of activities includes all maintenance work: from replacing light bulbs to repairing/replacing transformers and solar panels.

If there is any damage, then according to the contract we have 2 days in order to eliminate it.

Once a month we come to the site and do thermal monitoring of transformers, connections, contacts and tires. Since the metal expands and contracts with temperature changes, the contacts can become weak and fire hazardous. We also do the same monitoring every half a year, but for all solar panels.

Also from regular tasks there are timely grass mowing. On average, once a month you need to hay the grass. Two workers need 8-10 hours to mow an area of ​​2 hectares (approximately 1 megawatt of solar power).

Sometimes unexpected situations arise that require quick and unusual decisions. A difficult case was at one of our SPP, which stands close to the gardens. The peasants left the stubble after the harvest, and it caught fire. The fire has overturned on our station. It's good that the guards responded in time and put out the fire. No people or equipment were harmed. After that, we made a one and a half meter ditch around the station so that the situation would not happen again.

Of the frequent works, it should be noted the seasonal presence of rodents that gnaw through the wires of CCTV cameras, and this has to be repaired regularly.

Also, during the war, we provide SPP workers with generators to maintain comfortable operation and operability of video surveillance cameras. It saves when the light goes out. For the power plant cannot generate energy for itself.

– Does EDS-Service bear legal responsibility for the maintenance of facilities?

We bear full legal responsibility for the facility's performance. It is written in the contracts that if something happens due to our fault, and the customer suffers losses, we will compensate them. Even if we did not have time to complete the repair work in 2 days and the customer has losses, we will compensate them. But during the entire existence of our unit, there were no such cases.

- How does the war affect the work of the EDS-Service department?

The first months of a full-scale war, all payments were frozen. But, despite this, we did the maintenance of the facilities.

To date, two power plants have been temporarily occupied. And two more stations refused our services due to lack of funds. According to monitoring, we see that three inverters failed during the summer, and due to complex problems, they lost about 40% of their generation. This is around 5 MW (4000 euros) per day.

- What are the prospects and in what direction are you developing?

We are considering the option of monitoring SPP with our industrial drones with very high-quality thermal imagers. Aerial reconnaissance monitoring is performed 12 times faster, and the report is obtained instantly. This is the future!
