Qualities that are very important for a project manager
One of the most important qualities of a project manager is self-discipline. Since the manager sets tasks not only for others, but also for himself. The manager is given only one task: we have the initial data and we must get such a product as an output. It is the manager who must plan everything, and the process of project implementation will depend on him.
Another key competency of a project manager is communication skills. Communication is one of the most important factors in a project. It is extremely important for a manager to be able to set tasks, discuss problems, check whether he was understood correctly, hear counterparties and give feedback.
And not necessarily good communication skills for someone who talks a lot. You can say a lot, but it's useless. And you can say 3 sentences and everything is clear. Therefore, talking a lot and beautifully is not at all a super skill for a project manager.
Another important personal quality for a person in general, and even more so for a manager, is the ability to draw conclusions from the mistakes made. It would seem that these are obvious things, but in fact, not many people use these skills and develop them in themselves.
In our opinion, a good non-manager who received an easy project and passed it easily. He didn't get much experience from it. It cannot be said that this is an experienced manager. The more mistakes a manager makes at the beginning of his journey, if he knows how to analyze and draw conclusions, the faster he grows, develops and becomes more competent and does his job better. So do not be afraid of mistakes!
So what is the quality of a good leader? Leadership. It should be remembered that leadership = responsibility. A good manager must understand that if you let down your customer or employer, then you should be responsible for it. Not one of the team. It is this quality that helps the leader or manager to form the team that follows him. And, of course, all honors also go to the leader if the project succeeds!
